From Monuriki Island, where the Tom Hanks movie ‘Castaway’ was filmed, to the exclusive trip to the Narokorokoyawa or Sacred Islands where we’ll experience a Sevusevu (gift giving) ceremony, there is something for everyone on this cruise.

Sunday 28 July – Tuesday 6 August 2019  (10 Days)

Day 1 – Sunday 28 July 2019  OVERNIGHT IN AUCKLAND
Today our Fiji getaway starts with a night in Auckland. Departing our home cities in the afternoon we travel to our accommodation for a night at Sudima Hotel, where we meet with fellow travellers arriving from Wellington and Christchurch.

Day 2 – Monday 29 July 2019 AUCKLAND TO NADI (B)
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, we are transferred to Auckland International Airport for our morning flight to Fiji. On arrival we’ll be transferred to Novotel Nadi for our overnight accommodation. Novotel, Nadi

Day 3 – Tuesday 30 July 2019 DENARAU MARINA TO TIVUA ISLAND (BLD)
After breakfast this morning, we will be transferred to the Port Denarau Marina where we will begin our seven night Yasawa Island Cruise on MV Reef Endeavour for our island adventure. We cruise to Tivua Island over a light lunch and safety briefing to explore the coral gardens, clam farms and a medicine walk through the island before enjoying a South Pacific sunset on our first day at sea. Tonight we join the Captain and his crew for the Gala Captain’s Dinner.  MV Reef Endeavour – 7 nights

Start the day naturally with a morning swim & snorkel in an idyllic bay at Brothers Island. Savour the bounty of a gourmet buffet lunch as we journey to the spectacular Naviti Island. Here is beauty in its original state where we can bask in aquamarine waters along white sandy beaches. Snorkel, swim or explore the island. This evening, join the festivities and entertainment of a Fijian Village at Gunu for a traditional Fijian feast, Lovo, and Meke (cultural performance).

Day 5 – Thursday 1 August 2019 YASAWA ISLAND TO SAWA-I-LAU (BLD)
Discover the legendary grandeur of Sawa-I-Lau and the famous limestone caves at your own pace. Swimming in the cave lagoon is a wondrous experience or you could explore it on an escorted kayak tour. Join the guided walk to the island village, with a memorable visit to a local school. Snorkel over spectacular coral gardens or swim in the fabled lagoons. Tonight we will try our luck at crab racing.

Cruise the soaring volcanic peaks of the Yasawas and discover a myriad of fish in the coral reef and laze in the warm sands of Yaqeta. Cruise the spectacular channels to Drawaqa for amazing snorkelling this afternoon, you may even see a Manta-ray. Our overnight anchorage is Tivua Island for a tropical buffet dinner followed by yoqona (kava) and talanoa (Fijian story telling).

Day 7 – Saturday 3 August 2019 PORT DENARAU TO NUKU-I-MANA (BLD)
This morning we sail into Port Denarau for breakfast aboard. We disembark this morning allowing time to browse the shops around Denarau Marina, before reboarding and continuing on our cruise. This afternoon we set sail over lunch through the beautiful Mamanuca Islands past many famous resorts collecting some additional passengers, before arriving for a snorkel from a sand cay and discover the vista of a South Pacific sunset.

Day 8 – Sunday 4 August 2019 MONURIKI TO MONU BAY (BLD) 
Today our ship cruises to idyllic Monuriki where Tom Hanks’ Castaway movie was filmed. Explore this natural film set on a guided kayak tour and explore idyllic Monu Island for snorkelling before a special village choral service. The beautiful harmonies of the village choir will simply delight you. This evening join the entertainment of the Sunday Show.

Day 9 – Monday 5 August 2019 SACRED ISLANDS TO WAYA ISLANDS (BLD)
The Sacred Island is a place beautiful beyond belief. Legends tell of the great war canoe ‘Rogoboka’ which landed here with the first Fijians. On arrival, the ship’s crew pay tribute to the forefathers of Fijian culture and perform the Sevusevu (gift giving) ceremony. Spend a magical morning swimming in the aquamarine lagoons, snorkelling in spectacular coral gardens, beach combing or coral viewing from the glass bottom boat. Over lunch we cruise to the Southern Yasawa Islands. Enclosed by towering volcanic peaks and palm fringed beaches, Waya Island is a tropical paradise. Visit a local school this afternoon and a village and shell market. Don your favourite island attire for Pacific Island night tonight.

After breakfast this morning, our ship sets sail, returning to Denarau Marina. On arrival in Denerau, there will be time available to browse the area of Denerrau before our transfer to Nadi International Airport for our flight back home to Auckland.
