You will see that we have now listed pick up times for all our day trips. Please remember to be at the departure point 10 minutes prior to the departure time. Please advise the office at the time of booking where you will be meeting the coach. 

Sunday 28 February 2021 – BBQ at the Beach

Let’s make the most out of the summer weather with a trip to the beach. We travel over to Waihi Beach, stopping at Paeroa for a roadside morning tea.  We will pull up at Waihi Beach, and light up the barbeque for a lovely cooked lunch. After lunch there will be time for those keen to have a swim at the beach before we travel to Hamilton. Bring a fold down chair with you.  Please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. This trip will be weather dependent.

Tuesday 9 March 2021 – Redwoods by Night

This afternoon we will travel over to Rotorua, and have dinner at the Rotorua Citizens Club. After dinner, we journey out to the Redwood Forest Park to take part in the Redwoods Nightlights Walk. Redwoods Nightlights™ is one of New Zealand’s top design led tourism experiences that features 30 exquisite lanterns designed by world-renowned designer and sustainability champion David Trubridge. Floating between 9-20 metres above the forest floor, this award-winning, eco-tourism walk is 700 metres long, spans across 28 suspension bridges and 27 platforms traversing the gaps between 22 majestic 100 year old Redwood trees. The walk takes about 40 minutes to complete. Please note that you need to be able to complete the walk unassisted. Please note that we won’t be back in Hamilton until after 10.30pm.

Saturday 20 March 2021 – Tiritiri Matangi

Today will be an early start as we need to be at Gulf Harbour by 9:30am. Tiritiri Matangi Island is situated in the Hauraki Gulf and is only a 20 minute ferry trip from Gulf Harbour. From the moment you step onto the island to the moment you leave, you will be entranced by the serenade of gentle birdsong and the lush native bush. It has been revegetated with around 300,000 native trees and 12 of New Zealand’s endangered birds and 3 reptile species have been re-introduced consequently. Bring your lunch today as there is nowhere you can purchase this. A reasonable level of fitness is required for this trip, and please wear sturdy walking shoes. Please note that this trip needs to be paid by Friday 19 February 2021.

Wednesday 24 March 2021 – Caveworld Waitomo

Escape the crowds with a Footwhistle Glowworm Tour. This small group tour includes some of the most beautiful natural scenery in Waitomo. On arrival we take a short walk through breathtaking native forest past waterfalls to the cave entrance. There, we will walk down into the cave through a natural chasm. Please note there are approximately 150 stairs down to the cave.  The scene is set for an intimate cave experience, the solar powered lights are kept low so we can appreciate the magnificent glowworm displays at their best, only inches away. Around a corner lie the bones of one of New Zealand’s lost treasures, the ancient Moa. Be sure to bring your camera as we will be able to take photos and our guide will also be able to help us out with the best camera settings to get the best pictures. Complete the tour by enjoying a complimentary Kawakawa tea whilst we relax in the ponga hut nestled in native forest and surrounds. There will be time for us to purchase an early lunch (own cost) in Waitomo prior to our tour.

Tuesday 30 March 2021 – Waikato River Trails E-Bike ride

Join us today on a guided e-bike tour on the Waikato River Trail. The Waikato river trail offers great views and spectacular flora and fauna only found in New Zealand. We will bike the Karapiro section of the trail, which is 12km long, with an estimated trip time of 3 hours. The experienced guides will look after us for the duration of the trip. All equipment is provided, all you need to bring is closed footwear, a packed lunch and your water bottle. This trip has limited capacity and a moderate level of fitness is required.

Wednesday 14 April 2021 – Spike’s Bricks and Models Waihi

Today we travel to Waihi to check out the amazing creations at Spike’s Bricks & Models! Perfect for kids and grown-ups alike, Spike’s is a LEGO® display that has been established for over 3 years. There are 5 themed rooms including a massive range of Technics®vehicles, Creator Expert Series Ships, Castles, Modular Buildings, City Skylines and much more! Peruse trains, planes, ships and cars – with over 500 models to see, there’s something for young and old. The business owner (and passionate LEGO® Builder) aka “Spike”, has a wealth of knowledge and is happy to share this with us, plus we can get some hands-on time with the interactive tracked races! LEGO®packs also available for purchase so you can take it home or buy for the grandchildren. There will be time for you to purchase lunch in Waihi (own cost).

Today we travel to Auckland to view the Van Gogh Alive Art Exhibition at Spark Arena. Created by Grande Experiences, Van Gogh Alive sets aside traditions of tiptoeing through silent galleries and viewing paintings from afar in quiet contemplation as visitors find themselves interacting with art in ways they never imagined. We are not restricted to time so it is a full day of leisure exploring the lower Coromandel Peninsula including Whiritoa and Whangamata. Please take a packed lunch today to enjoy at the beach.

Sunday 16 May 2021 – Riverhaven Artland Sculpture Park

We journey today to Clevedon to visit Riverhaven Artland. Riverhaven Artland has a growing collection of permanent works by New Zealand Sculptors. The trail is made up of 3.5km of track with a tour duration of approximately 1-1.5 hour. The tour is suitable for most ages and abilities, a moderate level of fitness is required. Please wear suitable (preferably old) exercise shoes as this is also a sheep farm. We will stop for you to purchase lunch (own cost) in Clevedon, before travelling back to Hamilton.

Friday 21 May 2021 – Buffet Lunch at Nautilus Restaurant

Our travels today will take us over to Tauranga, for a delicious buffet lunch at Nautilus Restaurant. Their menu is regularly revised in tune with seasonal availability of fresh produce, with 50 different dishes to choose from. The menu includes fresh seafood such as oysters and prawns as well as selected fine meat cuts. The variety of the buffet selections is sure to leave you wanting to sample everything! Enjoy the fresh selection of seasonal vegetables and salads accompanied by mouth-watering sauces and dressings to add to your dining experience. Their cakes and slices are prepared fresh every day to ensure nothing but the best dessert selections. Choose from a wide selection of fresh fruit and cheeses as well as a variety of artisan breads. After our lunch, we take a drive around Mount Maunganui, before traversing over the Kaimai Ranges and back to Hamilton. Wednesday 2 June 2021 – Hampton Downs Motorsport Park

Today we travel north to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park. Hampton Downs is a world class Motorsport Park and Events Centre. Hampton Downs hosts a number of major motorsport events annually, attracting 1000s of racing fans to the circuit and is a world-class corporate event and conference venue. On arrival at Hampton Downs, we take the coach for a drive around the track. We will have a representative from Hampton Downs on board the coach to tell us about Hampton Downs and the various motorsport events that the track holds. After our track ride, there will be time to purchase lunch at the nearby café (own cost for lunch).

Friday 11 June 2021 – Auckland Historic Houses

Today we travel north to Auckland to visit two historic homesteads. Our first stop will be Alberton, one of the most loved historic houses in New Zealand. Built in 1863, Alberton began its life as a two-storey farmhouse. When the property was bequeathed to the public in 1972, the descendants left the house furnished with a treasure trove of original artefacts. Our second visit will be to Highwic House. A must-visit for lovers of history, architecture and gardens, this gothic mansion is the legacy of early colonial Alfred Buckland. It is one of New Zealand’s finest timber Gothic homes. We will stop in at Newmarket for you to purchase your lunch (own cost).

Sunday 20 June 2021 –  Pah Homestead & Wallace Arts Centre

We travel to Auckland to Pah Homestead & Wallace Arts Centre.  We’ll enjoy a guided introductory talk about the history of the Pah Homestead, the operations of the Wallace Arts Centre and their current exhibitions. Designed by architects Edward and Thomas Mahoney, the Homestead was the largest house in the Auckland province at the time. A picturesque farm landscape, including a series of gardens and tree lined driveways, was developed around the Homestead, the remnants of which can still be seen. The Homestead itself remains largely as it was built, with almost all of its original door and window joinery, elaborate ceiling roses, parquet floors and marble fireplaces intact. There will be time available for you to purchase lunch in the on site café (own cost for lunch).
