ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH          (D)
This morning make your own way to Christchurch and meet up with your guide at the hotel. Christchurch has emerged revitalized following the earthquake that devastated much of the city in February 2011.  The destruction of several landmark historic buildings has led to the development of new city plans, a bold public art programme and innovative use of space.  Tonight, get to know your fellow travellers at a local restaurant – arriving in style on a beautifully restored heritage tram!
Accommodation: Distinction Hotel, Christchurch

Day 2          Tuesday 06 April 2021

Depart Christchurch and travel up the east coast through the North Canterbury farmlands and the recently developed wine country of Waipara to the town of Kaikoura where the mountains meet the sea. Continue north travelling along a thin ledge of land pinned between the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the rugged ranges then across farmland to Blenheim - located in the Marlborough Wine Country. On arrival in Blenheim, we enjoy wine tasting and platter lunch at The Wine Station. The core of The Wine Station concept is the ability to showcase an incredible variety of 80 premium wines from Marlborough. Tonight dinner is included at Arbour, a modern and relaxed restaurant with innovative seasonal cuisine with a focus on local producers and purveyors – a real taste of Marlborough.
